Krupp Readies Public Offering As Empire Goes Public
Bonn reports Afried Krupp plans to convert most holdings to public ownership in a staged Ford pattern. Chancellor Erhard cites Volkswagen as a model and uses volksaktien to appeal to voters ahead of the September 19 ballot. The move follows postwar pledges by the three Western powers linked to Krupp’s coal and steel assets and its fully integrated production that aided German warfare.
