Mothers in Gants Hill, England faced fear as babies in prams were scratched by an unknown assailant. Police arrested a 4 year old boy found using a hair comb to scratch faces. Officers warned his mother to supervise him closely during shopping trips.
Dr Detley W Bronk president of the Rockefeller Institute and Dr Harold C Wig gers dean of Albany Medical College were elected to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute board of trustees by president Dr Richard G Folsom. They will serve four-year terms through June 1968. Bronk has led the Rockefeller Institute since 1953 after serving as Johns Hopkins president. Wiggers has been dean and professor of physiology at Albany Medical College.
Mrs Anna Mae Wagner of 13 Francis Plaza has returned home from Hillcrest Hospital after a three week stay. Mrs Ida Magnano of 49 Longfellow Ave will return to Wanda Trepadz Beauty Salon next week after a short leave. Albany Medical College, affiliated with Union University, lists a faculty history from 1947 as professor and department chair to dean.
Four elementary students submitted essays on safety for a contest sponsored by United Commercial Travelers. Deadline was Friday per director John A Massimiono. Winners to be chosen in a week and top essays will be sent to the National Safety Council magazine.
