In a late Boston session the House approved raising the minimum public school teacher salary to 5000 a year from 4500 with finance by the state debated. Amendments to strike state financing passed 105 to 97 while rejection of the measure carried 150 to 53. Pittsfield reps noted a 4900 minimum in city and a total Pittsfield impact around 55000.
