Ernest Preston, a young man employed by a royal horse importer in Manchester, was badly injured when a horse he was leading reared and fell backward onto him. He was crushed beneath the animal, suffering two broken bones as workers struggled to control the unmanageable horse.
Fort Dodge report says dentist Dr XN E Smith woke during a burglary in the Mc Namara block and fired after arming a revolver. A dozen shots were exchanged with the intruder, woodwork struck. A boy, Andrew Baker aged 12 of Gilman, was allegedly wounded in the legs feet and back.
