Dora Grayson returned to Mt. Vernon to resume music studies. Prof. Lowe and daughter Edith visited Dysart on Saturday. Canning company closed for the year with about a million cans packed. Verna Lick started school at Tilford Collegiate Academy on Monday. Frank Stewart and family plan to move to Minnesota this week. County fair boosterism urged for a successful year. Oscar Lahue was jailed Tuesday after jumping ears. a warning to the young. Ira Reeve returned Wednesday night from Dixon Illinois where he worked in a shoe factory the past three years. Sarah McGirr came home Saturday from West Branch.

Miss Verna Harwood visited in Vinton on Monday while Charley Servison from Cedar Rapids spent several days with local friends. Florence and Dora Grayson rode to Vinton Monday as Cliff Harwood visited Dyeart Sunday. Mr and Mrs John Irvin moved from West Branch and plan to live on Lehman farm this spring. The canning factory will complete its pack this week. H L Troxel, after summering in Marion, will move to Garrison to occupy the Cline house vacated by the Yalden girls. Bert Harwood moves into a new house this week. Will Lahue and Hattie Troxel have been working in canning. There is a report they were married by Rev Stubbs at five o clock Monday evening. Mr James Harwood has been ill this past week and is not improving fast.

Mrs J T Springer and Miss Alice Stewart visited in Vinton and Shellsburg last week with various Cedar Rapids visitors and a Marengo fair attendance. A Destructive Storm devastated Galveston with about 5000 deaths and $50 million in damage. the storm path affected Texas to Canada with rain and wind reaching the region Tuesday.
