Benton County Clergyman Accepts New Calling at Upper Iowa

Hilles T. Crawford was admitted into the full itinerant connection at the Upper Iowa conference in Marion last week. He left for Butler county to take full charge of the Cold Water circuit and plans to meet his charges next Sunday before returning to his family. Born and raised in Benton county, he enters the ministry with firm resolve to fulfill his duties as a conscientious God fearing man.

Accident injures Miss Maggie St. Clair near Mt. Auburn

A late evening collision near Mt. Auburn involves Miss Maggie St. Clair as a buggy is struck by a passing special train just north of the town. The horse bolted and the buggy tore apart. St. Clair's arm is broken and internal injuries are feared. Dr. Griffin was summoned to the scene.

Aragon K Trots In Des Moines and Cedar Rapids

The noble Aragon K driven by Carlos Kelley proved a gamy trotter in state circles. Shipped to Des Moines for a 2 14 trot, the race was postponed by management. Aragon then went to Cedar Rapids for the free for all at the Friday carnival where the horse won easily.

Ring Triumphs In County Central Committee Pick

The Eagle reports the inner circle planned to discredit Miller by pressuring the County Central Committee. Murphy and his ring sought to replace Miller with their chosen man. Rozenberg was the second choice and would have faced Miller if Whipple failed. with Whipple declining, Rozenberg is named to fill the vacancy.
