Wreck Near Fairfield Kills Four and Injures Ten

Four men killed and ten injured in a head on collision of two passenger trains one mile south of Fairfield Iowa at 4 a m Wednesday. The victims and many injured were Iowa residents. Train No 12 westbound and No 2 eastbound collided at about thirty miles per hour. Wreckage included derailed cars and damaged engines. Mason City Man Killed In Yard Incident

Mason City Iowa February 22 Robert Hamilton master mechanic of the C B L & St P shops at Minneapolis was buried here yesterday. He was injured while crawling number 3 string of box cars in the Minneapolis yards when they were started abruptly and died after days of suffering. He had been foreman here for three years and earlier worked in the South. His sons Thomas and Paul are engineers on the Stony and Des Moines divisions respectively. He was 60 years old.
