Beyond All Expectations Monster Woodmen Picnic Draws Thousands
The Woodmen Union Picnic at Ideal Grounds drew an estimated 4 000 to 6 000 attendees with 600 in line, 334 teams arriving by nine, and 400 plus more by noon. Contests included trap shooting won by Brandon, pigeon shooting, and a tie in girls basketball. Bands performed, and Miss Pella of Brandon impressed. Woodmen praised grounds owner Mr Winegar and thanked organizers for a peaceful, well run day.
