Mrs. Schofield wife of Major General John M. Schofield commander of the U.S. Army died in Washington on the 80th after a sudden heart and nervous illness. She was the daughter of Professor Bartlett formerly at West Point and was married when Gen Schofield was assigned as an instructor there. Her remains were taken to West Point for burial.
