Eden Fire Insurance Company Holds Annual Meeting
The Eden Fire Insurance Company met at the court house in Vinton on January 10 1885 at 10 am with President Paul Correll presiding. The annual report shows insured in force 347212 dollars a net gain of 43796 dollars and 260 members. Three losses totaling 935.10 dollars occurred with contingent expenses of 49.10 dollars. Beginning 1884 balance 89.40 dollars and assessments collected 983.14 dollars plus 68.05 dollars in fees left 156.29 dollars on hand January 1 1885. John E Heath C C LaRue and J S Stanley elected directors for two years. Other officers terms expire at next annual meeting: Paul Corre], President William A Crawford Vice President A H Hanna Treasurer S Ward Secretary William Bellsworth Joseph Kline and M McNie Directors.
