Robberies Reported in Benson Area With Two Suspects

Several small robberies occurred around Benson while holiday liquor thefts were not linked. C E Goetz store burglary yielded unspecified valuables. A Sibyl track-walker was attacked stealing a watch and one dollar. J W Cull residence loss included Liberty Bonds shoes pistols and other valuables. Two young Mexicans faced charges and pleaded not guilty, later identified as the assailants by the track-walker before Judge Rucker. with no bond they were jailed in Tombstone.

A Wednesday morning wreck three miles out detained transcontinental passenger trains in Benson. Curious tourists wandered the town while some passengers left to explore or seek investments. By noon the wreck was cleared and trains could pass.
