War on Animal Pests Planned in Arizona Campaign

The Arizona campaign funds total 50 000 with 25 000 from the Council of Defense and 25 000 from the Biological Survey to exterminate prairie dogs jack rabbits gophers coyotes wolves bears and other predators. County agents co operate with farmers stockmen and state and federal agencies to promote extermination and increase food production. D A Gilchrist of Flagstaff leads the effort and welcomes correspondence from interested parties.

A Des Moines man lauds Chamberlain's Colic and Diarrhea Remedy after his daughter, near death from dysentery, recovered following its use. He also notes personal relief from the remedy and recalls Ashland Kansas discussions. He mentions a looming sugar famine as a side remark.

Bees quarantined across a wide Arizona region and mining sale announced

A three mile south to twenty four mile north quarantine covers bees near EK M Miller to Benson including Goetz and Matteson Sanchez Apiaries along San Pedro river. The American Smelting and Refining Company has become sole owner of Silver Bell mines, Sasco smelter, and the Arizona Southern Railway after purchasing from the Frank M Murphy estate for about 125000. No personnel changes will occur at the operating companies per Julius Kruttschnitt Jr southwestern manager.

Benson Young Man Weds in California

Mr L H Williams, newly married to Dor othy Boltenstein of Lynn Center Illinois, arrived from Los Angeles on No 10 with his bride. They wed in California and returned to be telegrapher Williams at Southern Pacific. A serenade greeted them and locals later toasted the couple at Moss Pharmacy. They will reside at the Ashburn house on Fifth street and be at home August 10.

Dance Refreshment Sale Net Donates to Benson Red Cross

The railroad men's dance on July 22 raised 20.75 from refreshments. Expenses totaled 3.05 covering syrup 0.40, paper plates 0.15, damaged glasses 0.50, and moving piano 2.00. Net 17.70 donated to the Benson Red Cross committee.
