County Scholarship Exam Set For May First Saturday

The Annual County Scholarship examination will be held the first Saturday in May at the County School Superintendent's office. The top county student earns a University of Arizona scholarship worth 500 dollars, with eligibility restricted to ages sixteen to twenty-five and graduates of a four year county high school. Applicants must notify the County School Superintendent of their intent and will be tested in geometry English algebra and science plus two of history Latin French German Spanish or a second science.

Arizona Delegation Heads to National Good Roads Meet

Governor Campbell names twenty seven Arizonans to attend the seventh annual National Good Roads Convention in Mineral Wells Texas from April 14 to 19. Cochise county sends many others including Secretary Gardner of the road commission and likely several supervisors. The meeting aims to decide the Bankhead Military Highway route through Arizona to the West coast.

The Chautauqua held for three days the 16th 17th and 18th met patrons expectations with a varied program. The Fighting Yanks Bellino Taylor Company and the Columbians provided musical entertainment while lectures inform and instruct. Benson business leaders signed on for another year.
