Auto thief escapes after 80 mph chase across suburbs
An apparent auto thief fled from Elk Grove Village police at speeds over 80 mph in a five mile pursuit that ended in a three car crash at York and Irving Park in Bensenville. The suspect, about 30, escaped into a wooded area after the crash near Towne Road and Devon Avenue. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier this month from Chicago.
