St Demetrios Greek Picnic At Bensenville Church
St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Bensenville hosts its third annual parish picnic this Sunday at 3 N 730 Church Road. Proceeds go to the building fund with a 9 am church service followed by Greek lunch, teen band sets from 3 to 6 pm, and evening dancing under the stars. Co chairs are George Mitchell and Gust Rellias of Addison.

District 88 eyes 600000 boost from state aid formula changes
The legislature raised aid per pupil from 400 to 520 with a state grant of 48 and a 90 cent tax levy. District 88 expects about 600000 more, but Superintendent Allingham warns it won t balance the budget and may require a 26 to 28 cent tax-rate increase. A revised student dress code and addendum are set for school approval and faculty input. A pupil attitude survey is being analyzed to guide improvements.
