Voters To Decide 25 Cent District 100 Tax Increase

Voters in Bensonville and Wood Dale will decide tomorrow on a 25 cent educational tax rate hike for Fenton High School District 100. The measure would raise the rate to 1.79% per $10,000 of home value, amid a $700,000 deficit and budget cuts. Seven polling places open noon to 9 pm. registration ends at 5 pm in Bensenville and 4:30 pm in Wood Dale.

Pizza treats at Addison St. Joseph's school amuse students

About 22 family size pizzas were sent to Addison's St. Joseph's school by John’s Pizzeria as a Thanksgiving surprise. The cheese pizzas arrived at 11:45 a.m. and were quickly eaten, with Josephine Culotta and her sister Margie among the students.

Wood Dale easements eyed to spur 61 acre industrial site

Village officials report possible east west street easement from Addison Road to Prospect Road to serve 61 acre industrial parcels north of Maher Lumber Co. James B. Cochrane of Des Plaines says an 800 foot Addison Road extension and railroad crossing are needed to attract Carlton Industries warehouses totaling 400 000 square feet. Commonwealth Edison may grant the road easement triggering construction by April, with preannexation sewer and water plans to Wood Dale.
