Bennington Coach Glenn Thurber Granted Release by Black River High
Glenn Thurber of Bennington received a release this week from Black River High School in Ludlow after five years as faculty and head basketball coach. He said he was forced to request the release because the fall teaching schedule violated his military service program's critical skills requirement. Thurber, still in the Reserve, must teach mathematics or science and had been in those fields until administrative changes shifted his assignment. He plans job interviews in Connecticut and New York state, not involving coaching, and hopes to finish his master’s degree at Ithaca College this summer. He expects to return to Bennington this weekend.
