Area Youths Rev Up Big O Stock Car at Lebanon Valley
The Big O driven by Schoonmaker placed third in the 25 lap Lebanon Valley Speedway event as Yellow X and 200 finished first and second. John F. Ryan of Putnam Street Bennington and crew, including Fred Babson, rebuilt the car after a rear end and braking issues. The team, racing since 1948, has funded upgrades from a 1957 Chevrolet engine to a 1955 rear end and roll bars, aiming for a Langhorne PA invitation and a Lebanon track award for perfect attendance in 1962.
