Loeb urges New Industry to lift New Hampshire pay
Manchester publisher William Loeb told a SEA gathering in Concord that attracting new industry to New Hampshire would raise voters pay by improving wage levels. He urged the state Department of Commerce to campaign for industry, arguing tax and living conditions push firms away. The meeting also installed Damon A. Russell as SEA president and elected Dorothy Breene as first vice president. The speech touched on curbing sales and income taxes via growth and taxable property. Other political notes covered tariff talks and a large public works package pending House action.
