Hoff cites Canadian power as a low-cost New England option
Gov Hoff told five New England leaders that Canadian power could exceed twice the capacity of the New York Power Authority's St. Lawrence output and surpass any current or planned New England project. He noted a Maine federal project could help balance regional needs but said private and public sources alone won't meet demand at low cost. Maine, Vermont and regional rates are highlighted, with Maine at 8.91 and the national average 7.43 dollars per month.
