Controversial Schwann Poll Reveals Modern Music Antipathy
Arlington piece notes how a Schwann poll of 2,164 respondents shows strong dislike for modern composers, with Schoenberg and Wagner top the list. It questions why German names dominate the hate list and highlights a broader aversion to post Tristan era music, while listing many familiar names as comparatively popular. The article muses about implications for concert programming and fundraising events in the community.
