Vermont economy cited for attracting industries
An economic consultant warned Gov. Hoff's planning council that Vermont's low educational level hinders attracting new industries. Dr. Morris Budin of Economic Consultants Inc. said shortages of skilled workers and youthful outmigration hurt growth and professional hiring in the state. In Brattleboro, Anthony C. Baraczynski, a Democrat, was named Hoff's representative in the legislature to replace Ernest W. Gibson III, who resigned to chair the Public Service Board. Baraczynski, 54, is Windham County Democratic Committee chair and a Motor Vehicle Racing Commission member.
