Whitingham weighs variance for large vacation homes
Whitingham selectmen spent four hours weighing a variance for Whitingham Farms cluster housing on 2100 acres. Planning board members warned of conflict of interest since planning board would advise the selectmen on variances, risking invalid decisions if appealed. Developers Jarvis and Feron of Windsor Locks, Conn. may challenge the ruling and sue, while residents questioned motives and long term impact on services, schools, and town resources.
