Vermont Republicans chose Lt. Gov. Ralph A. Foote to oppose Democratic Gov. Philip H. Hoff in November. Infant Drowns In East Dorset
Twenty month old Jame Edward Sheldon, son of Mr and Mrs James B Sheldon, drowned in about 15 inches of water in a small stream near his South Village home. His mother noticed his absence about 2 45 pm and firefighters assisted as police said he fell down an embankment. Death tentatively attributed to accidental drowning by regional medical examiner. resuscitation attempted at the scene.
