Diamondstone Seeks Vermont Legal Aid Directorship
Brattleboro attorney Peter I. Diamondstone declared his candidacy for the Vermont Legal Aid directorship after Keith King resigned amid firing for insubordination. He backed a Gearan report calling for board reform to include more poor representatives and urged legislative reform as the program's priority. He argued the Bar Association blocks advocacy for the poor and said he would work with Gearan's recommended board if chosen. Diamondstone criticized Bar Association influence and questioned attorney appointments to the VLA board.
