State Appeal Under Way For Aid to Blind
Shaftsbury chairwoman Mrs Herbert H Leonard leads Vermont Association for the Blind drive begun Sept 1. Vermont allocates 10000 yearly, about one third of costs. rest depends on citizens’ generosity to fund prevention and education aiding the visually impaired. Last year applications, except emergencies, were cut Feb to July 1 for lack of funds. Officers keep costs down, many tasks done at home with nominal salaries. As a state project, Vermonters are urged to contribute any amount to assist the blind community.
