Lord's Name Censored From Woolf Play In Boston Run
Boston AP reports Edward Albee’s prize winning Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will remove the Lord’s name as an expletive for the remaining three week Boston engagement at the Colonial Theater after City Censor Richard Sinnott demanded cuts. Sinnott and Mayor Collins praised the quieter version while the CLU accused Sinnott of overreach and sought a meeting with the mayor. Lead actor Shepperd Strudwick said the edits do not hurt artistic value and the cast aims to comply.
