Aiken presses wildlife terms in Gaylord Dam plan
Senator George D. Aiken urges that if the Gaysville Dam goes ahead wildlife and recreation be protected and promoted, arguing the project would hurt Vermont's economy more than it would benefit southern New England utilities. The Senate panel weighs $500,000 for planning as Corps of Engineers and Vermont officials review revised plans to acquire 3,200 acres and 100 buildings for a 1,000 acre lake.

The move follows Wright’s justification that national banks are adjuncts of government and thus exempt.
