Breslin tax lapse cited in Albany welfare post case
Albany welfare commissioner Marsh W. Breslin 59 faces scrutiny for three years of unpaid federal income taxes. Times Union editor Hawver sought names of officials with filed returns. Breslin’s reaction questioned the probe though he did not dispute the letter’s accuracy. In Troy, RPI enrollment tops 4,000 for first time since WWII and Vassar inaugurates seventh president Alan Simpson, noting women’s unfinished revolution and ongoing frustrations.
