A baronial home built from field stone on hillside land
Jim Goodine built a stone house on 16 acres of former farm land with a clear stream and a bridge. He used abundant fieldstones, a steep 45 degree roof, thick walls, and a massive chimney. He learned stone work from Ernest Flagg and the Nearings, funding the project largely by land cost and community help, while planning long lasting, fortress like architecture.
