Peaceful Vigilers Begin Rites Here
The Vietnam Moratorium began in Bennington at Mt Anthony Union High School with about 150 students and faculty silent for 45 minutes. Vigilers wore black armbands and carried schoolbooks while information tables and posters supported both sides. A pro moratorium group and an anti moratorium group organized on different floors as the gathered crowd observed from Main Street and church grounds.
