Yale professor Tjalling Koopmans joins Soviet economist Leonid Kantorovich as Nobel laureates in economics for work on optimum allocation of resources. Koopmans, 65, born in the Netherlands and now a U.S. citizen, spoke of the honor and his plans, while Kantorovich’s career spans the Soviet Academy of Sciences and Lenin prizes. The prize totals 143000 dollars with a diploma, awarded by the Swedish central bank.
The Big House in North Bennington known as the Park-McCullough House becomes independent and self supporting as the Park McCullough Foundation receives deed to The Big House and contents.
