Leadership Stressed In Regional Planning

Alden P. Horton, chairman of the Windham County Planning Commission, credited active residents for forming the state’s first regional planning group. Representatives from 23 towns developed and brought to a vote a regional approach, with 17 towns approving the regional commission formed in May. Horton cited leadership and rapid acceptance as key factors and noted plans to hire a professional planner as the region develops over about two years.
