Phony letter brings suit on Barre paper
A half million dollar damage suit filed in Washington County Court targets the Times Argus Association on behalf of attorney Joseph Palmisano. Palmisano and attorney Richard Davis allege the Aug. 31 Barre Montpelier letter to the editor by Eric Franklin caused humiliation and damage to Palmisano by accusing him of pressuring the City Council Traffic Committee on the Church Street one way to two way change. The suit claims the author did not write as Eric Franklin and knew or should have known the falsehood. The action was filed Wednesday.
