The Vermont Environmental Board released a working draft of proposed performance standards under Act 250. The draft targets a development's siting design lighting landscaping and signing to keep visual impact no greater than necessary to inform the public of location and services. Copies were mailed to every district environmental commission.
Dr Collette Gaudin of Woodstock Vermont associate professor of Romance languages becomes the first woman to chair Dartmouth College faculty meetings in the absence of the president. She has long broken barriers at Dartmouth including tenure as one of the first women on the faculty and serving as faculty marshal in 1972. The 1961 to 1972 career spans teaching in France Canada and the United States with translations and writings on Zola and poetic imagery.
