Dr. Davidson of Mt. Equinox Dies 77 Pioneer Chemist and Inventor
Dr. Joseph G. Davidson a Vermont resident and retired Union Carbide vice president died at Putnam Memorial Hospital at 77 after a long illness. He arrived in Vermont in 1939 and developed Mt. Equinox with a toll road Sky Line Inn and Lake Madeleine Dam, forming major conservation projects. He transferred 4,000 acres to the Carthusian Foundation in 1964 and planned further gifts, with his Equinox lands to the order upon his death. Born Feb 7 1892 in New York City he earned degrees from USC and Columbia before joining Union Carbide where he held 28 patents.
