Dorset Associates announces a multimillion dollar resort and ski development called Dorset Hollow spanning 3000 acres in Bennington and Rutland counties. The project includes six peaks, an 18 hole golf course, four base lodges, aerial tramway, chairlifts, a Colonial village, and extensive environmental safeguards to balance summer and winter activities.

Johnson undergoes successful gall bladder removal

UPI reports President Johnson’s gall bladder removed at Bethesda Naval Hospital with a kidney stone also found and removed. Surgery lasted 2 hours 15 minutes from 7 to 9:15 a.m. EDT. Johnson resting well with Luci and Mrs. Johnson nearby. Moyers announced the complete success and plans for recovery.

Food Operators Protest At Wage Hike Hearings

In Montpelier UPI reports state Industrial Relations Commissioner Louis Lavin faced protests as wage hearings focus on a 20 cent per hour raise for hotel, restaurant, laundry, and wholesale service workers. Innkeepers argued tips push wages above the $1.25 minimum, with threats to cut staff or close operations if raises pass. If approved by Lavin and Governor Hoff, workers would soon receive the hikes.
