Visiting Poet Kunitz Reflects on Modernity and Craft
North Bennington reports on Stanley Kunitz former Bennington College poet laureate lecturing on Modernity in John Keats and reading his own verse. He notes nostalgia for Bennington the land recalls him while the student body seems younger, and he argues poetry cannot be fully taught though craft can be taught. He adds that poets write because they must and that advice is useless for aspiring poets.
