Ford hints anti inflation plan to bite the bullet
President Ford will seek a set of mandatory anti inflation measures from Congress and the White House next Tuesday. No retail gasoline tax or rationing. Police recovered two 350 pound antique dalmatians and a heavy concrete deer statue stolen Tuesday from Robert J. M. Matteson on South Street and Route 7. Three Crawford sisters, ages 7 to 10, spotted the dogs and deer in brush near Route 7 and alerted their mother, prompting the police response led by Officer Theodore Lanoue. An antique cash register stolen from Russell Stratton’s East Road garage remained missing. authorities see no definite connection to the statue thefts. Matteson offered a $1,000 reward and plans to secure the lawn with alarms and fittings when the dogs are reinstalled.
