Glass Craft Demonstration in Weston Vermont

A two day stained glass demonstration by Bernard and Linda Ethier of Springfield will be held at the Grist Mill in Weston on October 4 and 5. Demonstration hours are 10 to noon and 1 to 4 on both days with examples of their work for sale. The Ethiers operate the Ethier Stained Glass Studio in Springfield and focus on window hangings, small sculptures, and leaded glass lamp shades. Their work is sold in Vermont shops as stained glass remains a popular home decor. The couple emphasize the glass itself and its color depth, noting stained glass as a lasting art form with windows from the 10th and 11th centuries still brilliant. Bernard Ethier is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and holds a master's from Assumption College. He studied glass in Boston and traveled to study various techniques, while also painting and exhibiting in Springfield and at Norwich University.
