Grange pushes broader trade with Communist nations agenda
The National Grange closed its 105th annual session in Charleston West Virginia with resolutions urging expanded foreign markets for agricultural trade. They back nonstrategic goods trade with Communist countries where clear economic gain exists and endorse school Bible and nonsectarian prayers. They seek tax relief for Social Security beneficiaries and a national low cost power policy. They urge oil spill cleanup liability, ecology week, dams with retention funding, and power facilities at dams while maintaining anti-pollution rules. They support revenue sharing but oppose scrapping the Cooperative Extension Service and related grants. They oppose tax loss farming to cut farm earnings.
