Arlington ZBA Grants Variance for Flood Plain Home
Arlington ZBA approved a variance allowing Richie Mears to build a five acre flood plain home near the Roaring Branch and Battenkill merger north of the town center after a site plan by Steve Bliss was deemed protective against flood damage. The action follows concerns about flood plain regulations, precedent, and a separate dispute over a Warm Brook modular home permit and a $15 variance fee. Harry Garvey’s appeal of an IRA decision for an Icelandic sweater shop in his former Arlington building heads to a Bennington court.
