Arlington Man Charged in Nightrider Rifle Attack
A 26 year old Arlington man, Harry J. McDermott of Crow Hill Road, was charged with breach of peace after a nightrider rifle attack on the home of Arlington Memorial High School principal William Towne. Police say eight .22 caliber bullets hit the house on U.S.7 Saturday night. children were in the home but unharmed. McDermott was arrested at 11:30 p.m. and held at Rutland Regional Correctional Facility, with an arraignment set for Wednesday at Bennington District Court. Police officials cited understaffing and communication breakdowns while praising Troopers Herring and Crowson for their 16 hour investigation leading to the arrest.

Water Plan Voters Funded Controversial Public Plan
