ABA this week weighs high court candidates
The American Bar Association will evaluate 11 Supreme Court candidates for President Ford. The panel will categorize each candidate as not qualified, qualified, or meeting high standards. The list includes two politicians, Sen. Robert Griffin and Rep. Charles Wiggins, plus Solicitor General Robert Bork and several appellate judges. ABA chair Warren Christopher said legal experience weighs more than political credentials.
