Vermont towns challenge tuition rules for nondesignated schools
Two appeals filed with the Vermont Board of Education contest the law guiding tuition payments by Pawlet and Rupert school boards to non designated or private schools. Attorney James W. O Neill Jr. argues districts must cover full tuition for his son at Burr and Burton, and for two Pawlet students to attend preferred private schools. The cases, involving designation of New York high schools as receiving schools, seek board ruling to require full tuition in all three youths cases.
