Hoosick town village seek shared study on unification
Hoosick Falls Village Board approved a plan to fund a professional study on possible unification or joint operations with the town. The $35,000 survey would be 87 percent state aided, leaving about $3,000 net cost for each entity. The town board backed the survey 4 to 1 and both boards support legislation to exempt village taxpayers from township taxes not affecting village residents to avoid double taxation.
