VA cautions insurance policy holding veterans in New England
The Veterans Administration warns more than 53,000 World War II veterans in New England that GI term insurance premiums will rise sharply. Since 1946 these policyholders have endured six five year renewals. VA explains term insurance is temporary and warns premiums can exceed the policy face value. Options include converting to a fixed level premium policy with new dividend features, notably modified life age 65 or 70, which are cheaper than permanent plans. The dividend option allows applying dividends to paid-up additions, reducing overall protection.

Record Deer Kill Seen In Vermont Hunting Season
Vermont Fish and Game officials forecast a record deer kill with the season starting November 15. Strong winters support a high deer population, and last year’s firearms season produced 11,254 bucks while bow and arrow kills may exceed the 1,580 record set previously. The department notes Vermont’s high deer density versus Maine and New Hampshire and urges antlerless hunting on a restricted basis to curb herd size.
