United States Faces Pollutions Upfront Funding Plan
Washington reports the 89th Congress approved about 3.95 billion dollars for air and water cleanup with a built in federal aid formula to sewer projects. The plan balances 30 to 90 percent federal shares based on state action and standards, plus new cross border enforcement with Canada and Mexico on Great Lakes waters.

Amateur archeologist uncovers early Maine colony site
PEMAQUID Maine 57 year old Mrs Helen Camp uncovered what she calls a 17th century British customs house at a Maine field near Pemaquid Beach. Since 1964 she has supervised digs over 20 acres and identified more than 15000 artifacts while continuing work through winter and planning spring digs.

Burlington Man Pleads Innocent To Aid Aiding Prisoners To Escape
Zane Badore, 24, appeared in U.S. District Court in Rutland County. He faces a charge of aiding the escape of three federal prisoners on Feb. 18 from Chittenden County Jail in Burlington. Bail set at $10,000. Co- defendants include William Smith, 34, of Florida, and Joseph Lefebvre, 22, plus Joseph Daoust, 21, of Montreal. Prisoners reportedly escaped by unbolting a toilet. Lefebvre and Daoust were held for illegal entry.
