Ezra Pound dies in Venice amid mixed legacy
Ezra Pound dies in Venice after a life marked by exile and controversy. Once accused of treason due to Fascist associations, Pound spent years in a Washington asylum before returning to Europe. He produced innovative poetry and edited fellow writers, earning the Bollingen Prize in 1949 despite political stigma. Born October 30, 1885 in Hailey Idaho, he remained a controversial figure to the end.
