Television in Review Explores Flip Wilson Hit and The Funny Side
UPI essayist Les Brown analyzes NBC TV hit Flip Wilson and its racial satire, noting Wilson’s strong lead, two distinct characters, and how the act shifted from black club audiences to a national audience. He contrasts NBC support for The Funny Side with ABC and CBS choices, questioning its value and long term potential.
